2. General Ship's Particulars

 

The vessel was originally built in 2014 at Cemre Shipyard, Turkey/ Havyard Ship Technology AS, Norway, to the requirements of Det Norske Veritas (DNV) - Germanischer Lloyd (GL) Classification Society Rules.  The vessel was subsequently re-classed in 2015 with the American Bureau of Shipping (ABS), and is still classed with ABS.

 

The vessel was originally built as an offshore support and fire-fighting vessel, and has also been used as a supply and multi-purpose offshore/ support vessel, and still largely remains as such.

 

The vessel has two decks (main and twin deck), raked stem, is Dynamic Positioning (DP-2) equipped, with two Azimuthal thrusters, and two lateral bow thrusters.

 

There is an aft deck area of approx. 800 m2 (55.6 m x 14.4 m), steel/ timber clad, deck strength of 5 mt/m2, and a deck cargo capacity of 2,100 mt.

 

There are two deck cranes, one Palfinger Marine und Beteiligungs GmbH, 0.6 mt SWL at 10.2 m and 1.25 mt at 3.0 m radius on Port side, as well as one TTS Marine Co. Ltd., 3 mt SWL, 2.5 - 12 m max. radius on Stbd side.

 

The vessel is also equipped with two Wheelhouse top mounted external fire-fighting (FiFi1) monitors, remotely controlled, 1200 m3/hr capacity, 120 m length of throw, and 50 m height of throw.  There is also an external sprinkler system, as per FiFi requirements.

 

The vessel is also equipped with one, Mare Safety AS Fast Rescue Boat, type MS GTC 700-2VD, with two Hamilton water jets, 10 persons capacity, launched by dedicated MacGregor davit, HMD-A34.

 

The vessel's accommodation is made up of six (6) single berth cabins on C-deck, four (4) double cabins on B-deck, two (2) four passenger cabins on A-deck, one (1) four-man passenger cabin on Main deck, a Hospital and Gymnasium on Main deck.  In total there are Twenty-six (26) berths, all fully air-conditioned.

 

The vessel has diesel-electric propulsion, which is achieved by means of two (2) Fixed Pitch propellers, each driven by Frequency Controlled electric motors, driving through reduction gear.

 

All living accommodation is located forward, over four decks.

 

The vessel has reportedly the following cargo/water ballast/drill water, fresh water, brine/mud/oro, dry bulk, fuel oil (MDO), lubricating oil, urea and sewage tank capacities;

Each mooring winch has a 180 m, 52 mm diameter rope capacity, with a Nominal/ Max pull of 91 kN/ 45 kN, rope speed of 10.5/ 21 m/min, and a Brake holding load of 300 kN.

Main & Auxiliary Machinery

 

(a) Main Engines/ Aggregate Generators Nos.1 & 2:

There are two (2) Caterpillar Inc., type 3512C, four stroke, single acting, V8 cylinders, 170 mm bore and 190 mm stroke, turbocharged main aggregate marine diesel engines, each developing 1432 kW at 1800 rpm, S/Nos.E3Y00393 & E3Y00394.

 

Each diesel engine is directly coupled to a Norwegian Electric Systems - Marelli Motori S.p.A, type MJR 450 LA4 B3, IP44, 1703 kVA, 690 V, 1425 A, 60 Hz, 0.8 PF, 3 ph, 1800 rpm, (S/Nos.MA23047 & MA23046).

 

In addition, from the forward side of the No.1 Main Engine/ Aggregate Generator, there is a power take-off (PTO) which drives the main Fire Fighting (FiFi) pump, Sulzer Pumps Sweden AB, type SFP 300 x 400 CCW, No.200010709 13 617-1, 3384 m3/hr, 128 m head.

 

(b) Main Engines/ Aggregate Generators Nos.3 & 4:

There are two (2) Caterpillar Inc., type C32 Acert, four stroke, single acting, V12 cylinders, 145 mm bore and 162 mm stroke, turbocharged main aggregate marine diesel engines, each developing 994 kW (1333 bhp) at 1800 rpm, S/Nos.RSD00187 & RSD00189.

 

Each diesel engine is directly coupled to a Norwegian Electric Systems - Marelli Motori S.p.A, type MJR 400 LB4 B3, IP44, 1192 kVA, 690 V, 997 A, 60 Hz, 0.8 PF, 3 ph, 1800 rpm, (S/Nos.MA23041 & MA23042).

 

(c) Maximum Electrical Power Generation: The maximum electrical power generation was reported as 4852 kW (6506 bhp).

 

(d) Propulsion Motors (P & S):  The vessel's propulsion is achieved by means two (2) Norwegian Electric Systems - Marelli Motori S.p.A, Frequency Controlled Electric Motors, type B5J 500 LC6 B3, 1600 kW, 1600 A, 1196 rpm, 690 V, 60 Hz, 3 ph, IP55, 0.86 PF, (S/Nos.B011096 & B011097), each connected via planetary reduction gear to a Schottel GmbH azimuthal fixed pitch propeller thruster unit, type SRP 1215 (R/L & R/R), S/Nos.SRP-118885 & SRP-118886, ID Nos.1189978 STB & 1189977 BB, 1200/ 283 rpm propeller speed, 4 blades, 2400 mm diameter. There are two (2) Norwegian Electric Systems - Mongstad Elektro - Tavleteknik AS Frequency Converter Switchboards, type Quadro Drive 1600 kW, capacity 1600 kVA, 690 V/ 0 - 690 V, 60 Hz/ 0 - 60 Hz, 1600 kW/ kVA, 1500/ 1640 A, IP44, S/Nos.20130901 & 20130902.

 

The maximum propulsion power 3200 kW (4291 bhp).

 

(e) Bow Thrusters:

There are two (2) Brunvoll AS, electro-hydraulic athwartship tunnel bow thruster units, each type FU-63-LTC-1750, 700 kW, 4 bladed, 305 rpm controllable pitch propeller (CPP), 1750 mm diameter, (S/Nos.10300 & 10301).

 

Each bow thruster unit is electric motor driven by a Norwegian Electric Systems - Marelli Motori S.p.A, type B4J 400 LC6 V1, Cod. B4J4033Q025N9, IP55, 700 kW, 690 V, 720 A, 60 Hz, 0.84 PF, 3 ph, 1194 rpm, (S/Nos.B011117 & B011116).

 

(f) Emergency Diesel Generator:

 

There is one (1) Perkins Engines Ltd., emergency diesel generator engine, type 6TG2AM, 6 cylinder, single acting, 4 stroke, developing 100 kW at 1800 rpm, S/No.YB51046.

 

The diesel engine is directly coupled to a Stamford generator, type UCM274 E1, 121.7 kVA, 690 V, 101.8 A, 60 Hz, 3 ph, 1800 rpm, IP23, 0.8 ph, (S/No.A13B076079).

 

(g) Air Compressors:

There are six (6) air compressors (excluding BA compressor);

There are two (2) Alfa-Laval S.p.A. Diesel Oil purifiers, type P605, Product No.881099-06-03, S/Nos.4227693 & 4227694.

 

(i) Heating Ventilation & Air Conditioning (HVAC) System:

There is one (1) Aeron AS HVAC unit for the accommodation and wheelhouse, located on A-Deck, type CECE 140, ventilation fan capacity 13,000 m3/h, ventilation fan electric motor driven, 1-Speed type, 3528 rpm, 690 V, 60 Hz., 17.5/ 18.9 kW, IP-55.

 

There is one Aeron AS skid mounted HVAC cooling plant located in the Engine Room, which is for the accommodation and wheelhouse, type CUBW-M2-CSH 6563-40Y, S/No.6140314, year 2014, Power 2 x 36 kW, 2 x 36 A, 1760 kg, Project No.13167, Refrigerant R134a, with a Cooling capacity of 2 x 130 kW.

 

The skid mounted HVAC cooling plant comprises of two (2) Bitzer Kuhlmaschinenbau GmbH refrigeration compressors, type CSH 6563-40Y-65S, each hermetically sealed with electric motor, 39 kW, 3550 rpm, 690 V, 39 A, 60 Hz., IP54, S/Nos.1085200660 & 1085200661.

 

In addition to the above main accommodation HVAC system, there is one (1) Daikin Industries Ltd packaged HVAC refrigeration unit for cooling the Electrical Equipment Room on C-Deck, type FTXS50G/RKS50G, 34 W+2.1 W, 230 V, 7 A.

 

(j) Provision Refrigeration Plant:

There is one (1) Aeron AS skid mounted refrigeration provision compressor plant, type CUBW-L1+1-4CES-6.2Y, S/No.6150314, 5 kW, 9A, 3 ph, 440 V, 60 Hz, 560 kg, Project No.13167, Refrigerant R404A, with a Cooling capacity of 4.02 kW.  The provision refrigeration plant comprises of two (2) Bitzer Kuhlmaschinenbau GmbH refrigeration compressor units, type 4CES-6Y-40S, each hermetically sealed with electric motor, 1750 rpm, 440 V, 30.8/ 17.7 A, 60 Hz., IP65, S/Nos.1691006943 & 1684900681.

 

(k) Hot Water Calorifier:

There is one (1) AS OSO Hotwater domestic hot water pressurised cylinder, type 17 RA/E, 1000 litres capacity, S/No.2004600, with four (4) electrical immersion heaters.

 

(l) Sewage System:

There is one (1) Evac Oy, Espoo, Finland, type EVAC MBR 24C, IMO No.340 345, year 2014, S/No.9671, sewage treatment plant, with a hydraulic loading capacity of 4.4 m3/day.  Unit assembled by EVAC Vacuum Systems Shanghai Co. Ltd.

 

(m) Bilge Oily Water Separator & Bilge Alarm:

There is one (1) RWO Marine Water Technology, Germany, type SKIT/S-DEB 1.0 bilge oily water separating system, 1 m3/hr capacity, S/No.13783, year 2014, RWO O/No.9063953, with a RWO Marine Water Technology, type OMD-24, bilge oil alarm.

 

(n) Liquid Mud Pumps:

There are two (2) Allweiler GmbH Liquid Mud pumps, type AEB 2N 1450, 75 m3/h, 350 rpm, S/Nos.13045514 & 13045515, each driven by an ABB Oy electric motor, type M3KP 225SMD 41MV1/1M3011, 690 V, 60 Hz, 63 kW, 66 A, 1780 rpm, 0.85 PF, S/Nos.3GF14189137 & 3GF14189138.

 

(o) Brine Pump:

There is one (1) Allweiler GmbH Brine pump, type AEB 2N 1450, 75 m3/h, 350 rpm, S/No.13046101, driven by an ABB Oy electric motor, type M3KP 250SMA 41MB5/1M3011, 690 V, 60 Hz, 65 kW, 67.5 A, 1775 rpm, 0.86 PF, S/No.3GF1413204412.

 

(p) FO Cargo Pump:

(q) Base Oil Pump:

(r) Fresh Water Cargo Pumps:

There are two (2) Allweiler GmbH Fresh Water Cargo pumps, type NT80-200/03U3 1D- W10, 200 m3/h, 90 - 22.5 m head, 3570 rpm, S/No.14005012 & 14005013, each driven by a Lonne electric motor, type 16BG 258 2PM90-Z 250M, 690 V, 60 Hz, 84 kW, 83 A, 3575 rpm, 0.89 PF, IP55.

 

(s) Ballast/ Drill Water Pumps:

There are two (2) Allweiler GmbH Ballast/ Drill Water pumps, type NT80-200/03U3 12D- W3, 200 m3/h, 90 - 22.5 m head, 3570 rpm, S/No.14005014 & 14005015, each driven by a Lonne electric motor, type 14BG 280 0BA90-Z 280S, 690 V, 60 Hz, 84 kW, 87 A, 3570 rpm, 0.89 PF, IP55.

 

(t) Incinerator:

There is one (1) TeamTec AS, type OG120C incinerator, capacity 220 kW, S/No.16720.

 

(u) Garbage Compactor:

There is one (1) Best Fishing Gir garbage compactor, type Enviro X-press. S/No.E10-1104.

 

 

3. FUEL & LUB OIL CONSUMPTIONS

 

The vessel's main aggregate generator engines and emergency diesel generator engine operate on Marine Diesel Oil (MDO)/Marine Gas Oil (MGO).

Lube Oil Consumptions

The following Lube Oil consumption figures were also reported for the Caterpillar 3512C and C32 Engines;

(a) Caterpillar 3512C Engine - for each engine 625 litres lube oil is changed every 1000 hours of operation.
